Patommavat Thammachard (Note) is a Thai classical guitarist whose artistic work bridges performance and education. Raised in Hua Hin and Bangkok, Thailand, he began studying guitar at an early age before continuing formal training with professional instructors in Thailand and abroad.
He earned his Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Indiana State University, United States, in 2014. He is currently a Doctor of Music candidate at the College of Music, Mahidol University, Thailand. In addition to his performing career, he serves as a full-time guitar instructor at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Bangkok, where he contributes to performance training and curriculum development.
As a soloist, he has performed Concierto de Aranjuez with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and appeared with the Indiana State University Symphony Orchestra. His international engagements include concerts and workshops in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and the United States.
He is the winner of the Paul W. Hagan Concerto Competition (USA, 2014) and First Prize recipient of both the Yamaha Acoustic Guitar Competition and the Bangkok International Classical Guitar Competition (Thailand, 2010). Beyond performance, he regularly serves as a competition judge and lecturer at national guitar festivals and ensemble competitions.
Through his work as performer and educator, Patommavat Thammachard continues to promote refined musicianship, interpretive awareness, and artistic discipline within the classical guitar community.
